Right after I landed on the website, the trailer popped out which signifies that the production wants the audience to watch the trailer first before they bring themselves to other pages.

There are common navigations for the audience convenience – to bring the audience to different pages such as limited offers, product features, trailer, story, cast & crew and gallery.

We can clearly see that the colour theme for the film production is yellow by looking at the layout, film title, female character’s dress and written codes. Yellow signifies enlightenment, happiness, joy, imagination, hope and sunshine which are all conforming to the bright mood of rom-com films have. The layout with yellow colour connotes that this film is a rom-com film.

The first navigation is limited offers. The film is selling merchandise for those audience who is interested to buy them. This connotes that the production is trying to diversify their marketing strategy and gain side revenues apart from the film ticket.

The second navigation page is product features where they advertise their film DVD that is now out in the market. Again to gain side revenues. There are deleted scenes and several other features that would attract audience to buy since it is not available online. This may also connotes that the film may not be in the cinema anymore.

Next, storyline navigation page. This page is usually would the first or second one in navigation bar. However, we can assume that this may not be important anymore since the film is already out and audience who visits their websites are those whom really in love with their production. The storyline may not be significant anymore.

Cast & crew page again conform to the codes and conventions of rom-com genre for the audience who is curious about the actors in the film. The popular cast may attract even wider audience and help to promote the film successfully.

Photos may be significant for certain audience. Audience is easily moved by looking at the behind the scene of all the actors and crews who are working hard on producing the film.  The audience also would like to see the official photo of the famous scene where they can embrace the moment or imitate the photo in their own version. The photos may be downloaded by the audience and share through their social networking sites, increase the awareness of the film at the same time.

These iconic signs connote that the film has other social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram & Youtube) that the audience can visit and and find more information about the film. Those social media are contemporarily well-known and widely use. The film will be able to engage with the audience even deeper.

At the bottom, the bar above can be seen with production logo and film rating based on MPAA. This placed at the bottom in very small size connotes that the information is insignificant which conforms to the conventions of film websites.
